Findings & recommendations
Key findings
Industrial Engineering. Nine in ten graduates (90%) were employed within six months. Most (63%) work for national-level companies and 67% report a job that closely matches their field. Employers rate ethics and teamwork very highly; foreign language skills are the weakest aspect (64% very good).
Mechanical Engineering. The program with the most graduates saw 71% employed within six months, 68% at national companies, and 73% with high field relevance. Information technology skills stand out in employer ratings (94% very good).
Metallurgical Engineering. Four in five graduates (80%) work for multinational or international companies, 75% with high field relevance, and none in unrelated fields. Ethics and foreign language skills are rated very good by 93% of employers.
Faculty. Overall, about 70% of graduates found work within six months, at workplaces ranging from local to international. Foreign language and communication skills remain a concern across all programs.
Recommendations
Strengthen graduates' foreign language and communication skills in every program.
Review the curriculum together with industry partners to match workplace needs.
Integrate the tracer study system with SIAKAD and PDDikti so alumni data is well documented and easy to track.
Method
Online survey through Google Form and the tracer.unjani.ac.id portal from April to December 2023, using total sampling of the 2023 bachelor's graduates. Employer ratings were collected from the supervisors or institutions where alumni work.
Figures are sourced from the 2023 Tracer Study annual report. The three Master of Technology Management graduates were not yet within the tracking scope.
